Manufacturer's Specification
Part A and Part B of the Expansion Weep, EXPW 75-75 (Patent #6,374,559 B1) are standard extruded aluminum alloy 6063 T5 and are .050 thick. The Expansion Weep comes with a rubber gasket, which joins Part A and Part B together. Expansion Weeps shall have a standard Clear Anodized finish. Mill and Alodine finishes as well as other factory finishes and custom paint orders are available. Refer to Finishesfor details.
Install all Expansion Weeps over building paper on vertical surfaces using full ten-foot lengths wherever possible. Part A, Part B, and the rubber gasket of the Expansion Weep shall be factory assembled with vinyl splices to ease installation. Attach Part A and Part B of the Expansion Weep to the framing with nails, screws, or other approved fastening methods. The next horizontal layer of building paper should overlap the nailing flange of Part B. Once the Expansion Weep is installed, a line of sealant must be applied to the horizontal joint between Part A and Part B. All reveals must be cut accurately and installed with tight, neat joints. All nailing flanges must be covered with lath and all butt joints must be sealed. Manufacturer recommends that a carbide tip blade along with lubricant be used when cutting any aluminum trims.
