Drywall Reveal Manufacturer's Specifications Drywall Reveals are standard extruded aluminum alloy 6063 T5 and are .050 thick. Flannery's Drywall Reveals come in 10' lengths and shall have a standard Mill Finish unless specified otherwise. Clear Anodized and Alodine (Chemfilm) finishes as well as other factory finishes and custom paint orders are available. Click the FINISHES link in the margin above for details. For intersections, corners, and radius shapes see below. Flannery also offers Reveal End Caps for the many different sizes of our Drywall Reveal product. These "U-shaped" end pieces can be added to any end of our Drywall Reveals to terminate the reveal where it might butt against a dissimilar material such as a door jamb or window frame. Attach Drywall Reveals through the taping flange to the drywall and framing with nails, screws, or other approved fastening methods. All reveals must be cut accurately and installed with tight, neat joints. Manufacturer recommends that a carbide tip blade along with lubricant be used when cutting any aluminum trims. This product is also known in the industry as DRM, DR, SWR, & Series 500. Reveal Alignment Splices Flannery is the first manufacturer to offer splices for Aluminum Drywall Reveals. Various sizes of Flannery’s Drywall Reveals are now available with Alignment Splices. Alignment Splices are suitable for butt joints, intersections, corners, and radius work. They also allow the installer to make butt joints between the framing members.
Installation Detail
Intersections and Corners Flannery offers intersections and corners for intricate building designs that utilize intersecting lines and bands around exterior or interior walls. These junctions can be produced in the field using Alignment Splices or can be ordered from the factory as prefabricated welded units to ease installation. Prefabricated intersections and corners are mitered and then welded at the nailing flanges.
Eliminating Joints Intersecting lines can be a difficult job for even the most experienced installer. Flannery’s Square Panel System is a way to reduce the time and labor involved in joining multiple lines of trim that intersect at the same point. The Square Panel System is an excellent solution for large grid formations. Once the installer establishes the proper layout with one horizontal line and one vertical line, he can attach the first square on those lines allowing the rest of the squares to line up.
