Hat Channel Vent Screed
The Hat Channel Vent Screed is a formed metal product, which is available in Aluminum, Copper, Galvanized Steel, and Stainless Steel. It serves as a continuous soffit vent for spaces enclosed by a soffit. It offers a "flush" or "non-recessed" transition between the soffit material and the ventilation trim. The Hat Channel Vent Screed comes with 1" long x 1/8" wide vent slots (See Vent Graph below for Vent Area Values).
Attach the Hat Channel Vent Screed to the framing members with nails, screws, or other approved fastening methods. The soffit material (i.e. Plaster Cement, EIFS, Exterior Gypsum Board, etc.) should be placed over the top of the Hat Channel Vent Screed's attachment flanges.
The Hat Channel Vent Screed comes in 10' lengths and can be ordered in a variety if depths and widths (see Size Chart below). The fastening flanges are 5/8" standard. Please specify the sizes needed on the order form below.
