Flannery’s Strata Acoustical Ceiling Cloud Edge (ACCE) Trim is an extruded aluminum trim that attaches to suspended ceiling track to create a solid edge for an acoustical ceiling. The Cloud Edge trim comes in a variety of sizes to allow for multiple design effects allowing for the acoustical ceiling to take on a “cloud-effect.” Flannery now offers reveals from 2 inches to 12 inches. Our ACCE trim as well as some of our other “cloud” trims can also be factory fabricated into radius and corners to ease into any of your perimeter ceiling designs. The Acoustical Ceiling Cloud Edge Trim also comes with attachment clips and splices to ease its integration into the suspended ceiling.
Manufacturer’s Specification
Flannery’s Strata Acoustical Ceiling Cloud Edge trims are a standard extruded aluminum product with a 6063 T5 alloy with varying wall thicknesses. The ACCE trims are sold in 10′ lengths and come with attachment clips and splices to ease their integration into the suspended ceiling system. Flannery stocks all Strata Trims in our Cloud White factory paint finish or Mill Finish for field painting.
Flannery’s Cloud White paint is a factory applied Kynar finish. In addition to our standard finishes, Strata trims can also be ordered in any liquid or powder-coated paint finish. Custom paint orders can be quoted, and samples prepared for approval. Additional finishes include anodizing, polishing, brushing, and “wood-grain” applications. Installation Details
Connect Acoustical Ceiling Cloud Edge trims to the suspended ceiling grid using the Ceiling Grid Trim Clips included. Rotate the Ceiling Grid Trim Clip into the slots on the back of the Cloud Edge trim and tighten the lock screw. Then attach the Ceiling Grid Trim Clip to the acoustical ceiling grid (see Figure A below).
Installation of large ACCE trims, including the ACCE 800, 1000, and 1200 require additional ceiling grid brackets that must be attached to the ceiling grid and then angled to meet the top of the large Cloud Edge trim (see Figure B below). Rotate the Ceiling Grid Trim Clip into the slots on the back of the Cloud Edge trim and tighten the lock screw. Then attach the Ceiling Grid Trim Clip to the acoustical ceiling grid and angled ceiling grid bracket.
Ceiling Cloud Splices
Use the included Ceiling Cloud Trim Splices to connect one piece of trim to the next for level and clean butt joints. All Cloud Edge trims must be cut accurately and installed with tight, neat joints. Manufacturer recommends that a carbide tip blade along with blade lubricant be used when cutting any aluminum trim.
Factory Corners
Flannery offers prefabricated Inside and Outside Corners for intricate ceiling designs that utilize our Strata Acoustical Ceiling Cloud Edge trim. Prefabricated corners are factory mitered and then welded together to prevent separation during the edge trim installation. These welded corners also allow the installer to maintain a straight and true layout of any rectangle or square ceiling. Factory welded corners come with 8” legs in each direction, however, custom leg lengths can be ordered. Factory cutting and mitering for custom ceiling projects are also available.
Radius Ceiling Clouds
Round, oval, ellipse and serpentine acoustical ceilings have become a part of almost every artistic ceiling design. Flannery has been bending metal for over 40 years and can radius our Strata Acoustical Ceiling Cloud Edge trims to create unique “cloud” designs for suspended acoustical ceilings.
