Homes and commercial buildings that utilize Stucco, Panels, or E.I.F.S. in their roofing system often need a Soffit Ventilation option that will function and look great. Soffit Ventilation is essential in maintaining airflow and reducing moisture, and thus, it is vital to install it on various roofing projects where the roof has an overhang. But why is it essential that the Soffit Vents are aesthetically pleasing? John Mazzuca from Gambrick explains, “Depending on how high your [building] is, the soffit may be visible from the street, which makes it an important part of your curb appeal.” Great News: Flannery has many Continuous Soffit Vents! We have options from our standard Plaster & Stucco shapes, E.I.F.S., and Flush Ventilation.
Our standard Plaster & Stucco Shapes, as the name suggests, work well with Stucco as well as paneling:
Channel Screed Vent:
Flannery’s Channel Screed Vents create an aesthetic ventilation strip in a soffit area.
Plaster F-Mold Vent:
Flannery’s Plaster F-Mold Vent creates a soffit ventilation strip where a plaster soffit meets a dissimilar material or wall and is in the shape of the letter “F.”
Plaster T-Mold Vent:
Like the F-Mold, Flannery’s Plaster T-Mold Vent creates a ventilation strip where a plaster soffit meets a dissimilar material or wall but is the shape of the letter “T.”
Drip Screed Vent:
Flannery’s Drip Screed Vent is a soffit ventilation strip that also creates a drip edge for moisture to “drip” off of stucco fascia edges, thus preventing all of the water from running back across a soffit. It is not recommended to install Drip Screed Vents where a framing member runs parallel to the vent strip since it may prevent the proper movement of air.
2-Piece Drip Screed Vent:
Flannery’s 2-Piece Drip Screed Vents act as a soffit ventilation strip that also creates a drip edge for moisture to “drip” off of stucco fascia edges, thus preventing it from running back across a soffit (like the standard Drip Screed but comes with two pieces). 2-Piece Drip Screed Vents should not be installed where a framing member runs parallel to the vent strip since it may prevent the proper movement of air.
Soffit W-Mold:
Flannery’s Soffit W-Mold Vent creates a soffit ventilation strip where a plaster soffit meets a dissimilar material or wall. Soffit W-Mold Vents are typically set at the corner joint where a fascia terminates, and a soffit return begins.
Our E.I.F.S. Vents work best in an E.I.F.S. System and Include:
Smooth Finish E.I.F.S.:
Flannery’s Smooth Finish E.I.F.S. Vents are soffit ventilated trims that builders can insert into an exterior insulation and finishing system (E.I.F.S.) soffit. Smooth Finish E.I.F.S. Vents are installed after the E.I.F.S. substrate and final finish coat have been applied to the system. Because they are installed after, this eases the installation process and reduces the labor required to establish a typical soffit vent.
Direct Application E.I.F.S.:
Flannery’s Direct Application E.I.F.S. Vents are soffit ventilated trims that builders can insert into an exterior insulation and finishing system (E.I.F.S.) soffit. With their beveled and thinning attachment flanges, builders can install Direct Application E.I.F.S. Vents over the E.I.F.S. substrate before the final finish is applied.
Direct Application E.I.F.S. F-Mold:
Flannery’s Direct Application E.I.F.S. F-Mold Vents are soffit ventilated trims that builders can insert into an exterior insulation and finishing system (E.I.F.S.) soffit where the system requires a vent along a dissimilar wall or material.
Finally, we have our Flush Ventilation, which can be installed against any desired soffit material. Our Flush Option includes:
Hat Channel:
Flannery’s Hat Channel Vents create a soffit ventilation strip flush with a desired soffit material. Hat Channel Vents are typically fastened to the framing before the soffit material gets installed. The Hat Channel Vent is a brake-formed metal product offered as Aluminum, Copper, Stainless, and Galvanized Steel.
Final Notes:
Flannery’s Soffit Vents come in several depths for different soffit material thicknesses, as well as many reveal widths for just the right amount of ventilation. So, however, if you need your Soffit Vents to function or look, Flannery has many options to guarantee a great finished project. Plus, in using Flannery’s Continuous Soffit options, you are getting Aluminum material, which will stand the test of time because Aluminum will not rust, and it is not a flimsy material that will degrade. Flannery is happy to be an excellent resource for your Soffit Ventilation needs. Call us today if you have any questions!
